Fraoch Lodge
Description
Your hosts at Fraoch Lodge are Andy and Rebecca. The house is of a traditional Edwardian design, made of granite. Artifacts from their travels through Asia and Africa adorn the walls as do mountain pictures. Comfortable accommodation is provided in 2 standard twin rooms (with shared bathroom facilities); 2 twin rooms with en suite bathrooms and one triple room with en suite/private bathroom.
Catering is available at Fraoch Lodge with meal times to suit your group. We cater for all kinds of groups and can tailor our menu to your requirements including for those who may have special dietary needs.
Will Hide's article in 'The Guardian' .........
'we spent the first night enjoying Rebecca's cooking, which would have passed muster in any hotel. Home-made fishcakes, curries, white chocolate and pecan brownies, and raspberry and basil ice cream make up just a small part of her repertoire...'
The Lodge also provides a fully equipped drying room, daily mountain forecasts and Andrew, a mountaineering instructor, is always on hand to provide information on conditions and local route advice should it be needed. He is also very knowledgeable about the high mountain flora and fauna.

This means you can relax in our sitting room, enjoy fresh, home-cooked meals at our dining table and use a range of home-from-home facilities. Guest accommodation is flexible in single, twin and triple rooms and it's possible to have exclusive use of areas such as the annex. Please note rooms have a hand basin and share bathrooms
As you would expect from a homestay, Fraoch Lodge offers a wealth of home-from-home comforts and attractions for guests. Meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner andour legendary afternoon tea and cakes, are home-cooked using as many home-grown and local products as possible. You can join us around our friendly dining table where the chat inevitably turns to the outdoors activities that everyone has enjoyed during the day.
At any time, guests can relax in our cosy lounge, where a fire is lit on chillier days. Perhaps you'll pass the time reading one of our many books, playing a board game with the family or simply sitting and looking into the fire with a wee dram.
At night, our comfortable bedrooms create the perfect ambience for restful sleep - and if you so choose it's possible for a group of friends or a larger family to have the privacy of an entire upstairs floor or annex to themselves. Each room has a hand-basin while bathroom facilities are shared.
Like many homes that belong to outdoors fans, we are geared up to cater for walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers and families who are keen to enjoy an outdoors adventure or two. Let us help you to organise a fantastic guided or self-guided activity each day, or you can ask us for our recommendations for the best places to walk or cycle. We know so many amazing places in the Cairngorms National Park - and right on our doorstep. We're keen for as many guests as possible to join our walking and cycling tours and courses, giving them the best value for money for an active Scottish Highlands break or holiday.
Our home also offers many facilities to ensure that your stay with us is warm, dry and very flexible.
