Disc golf and footgolf @ Craggan Outdoors
Description
'Best Outdoor Adventure Experience' winner in the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards 2019, and TripAdvisor 'Hall of Fame' member with a 94% rating: unique fun for all ages and group types : throw a disc (frisbee) from tee to basket, or kick a football from tee to hole : beautiful 9 hole course located beside the River Spey, with fantastic views to Cairngorms and Cromdales.
Disc golf is played like traditional golf, but instead of a ball and clubs, using a disc (frisbee). The disc is thrown from a tee to the ‘hole', a specially designed basket that catches the disc. Our disc golf course is set alongside the main golf course, and comprises nine holes, and can be played as a round of 9 or 18 holes (twice around the nine), or if you fancy even more, then play as many holes and times round with a day ticket.
As with standard golf, we welcome all ages, all types of groups and all abilities, so if you fancy something a little different in the way of a couple of hours of easy access outdoor fun, then why not come and give it a try. It's great value at £8 per 9 hole round for adults, and £6 for under-16s; and 18 holes is £10 and £8 respectively. Or get a day ticket for £15 (£10 under 16s) and play as much as you like. Free hire of one disc is included, with hire of additional discs being £2 each.
Footgolf follows the same concept as golf, but with bigger balls, players kick the football from tee to football-sized hole in as few shots as possible. Our 9-hole course has a mix of par 3, 4 and 5 holes ranging from 84 yards to 185 yards in length, and making good use of the existing dips, curves and slopes of the golf course. Par for 9 holes over the 1,122 yards is 36, and the current course record for a full 18 hole round is five under par 67.
Footgolf is a ‘pay and play' activity, so no bookings required / taken - except for groups who are advised to pre-book, particularly if wanting ball hire - so just come along, pay your money (cash only), and off you go. Prices are £10 for 9 holes for adults, and £7 for under 16s, with ball hire if required being £2. Feel free to bring your own ball of course. An 18 hole ticket is £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s, or play as much as you like in any day with a day ticket at £18 and £12 respectively. Free ball hire is included with 18 hole and day tickets.
Footgolf is suited to everybody and anybody that can kick a ball, and looking to enjoy some easy competitive outdoor fun. Recommended footwear is football trainers. Please note that football boots with studs or blades are not permitted. Why not come along and give a new sport a try? We reckon you'll be hooked. Don't forget to ask us about catering for your group aswell.
